Jeanie Marie Buss was born in the US. She is the President and the controlling owner of Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. Buss is an California born and raised in an affluent family. Jerry Buss, her father was a businessman in real estate who became owner of Lakers Sports and Entertainment. Her feelings of abandonment were heightened after her parents split in 1972. As a 19-year-old she inherited the Los Angeles Strings professional Tennis team as the General Manager. Later, she founded the Los Angeles Blades roller hockey professional team. In the beginning, she was vice president of Lakers prior to taking over the role of President of the Great Western Forum. Her father passed away in 2013, and his control over control for the Lakers was transferred to Buss as well as her siblings via a trust for the family with each sibling having an equal vote. she assumed the duties of the president for the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is also co-owner in Women of Wrestling a pro-wrestling promotion headquartered at Los Angeles.
